Connecting:
Remote Desktop Gateway:
research-rds.hpc.fau.edu (requires 2Factor via Duo Push)
Instructions:
- Open Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client from the Start Menu
- Click Show Options
- Click the General Tab
- Enter kokowin.fau.edu in the computer field
- Enter your netid@fau.edu in the User name field, optionally check Allow me to save credentials
- Click Advanced
- Click Settings under Connect from anywhere
- Click Use these RD Gateway server settings
- In Server name enter “research-rds.hpc.fau.edu”
- In Login Method select “Allow me to select later”
- Check ByPass RD Gateway server for local addresses.
- Check “Use my RD Gateway credentials for the remote computer”
- Click Ok
- Click Connect to connect to the remote kokowin.fau.edu server.
- When prompted Confirm that you want to allow this connection.
- Enter your password when prompted
- Accept the Certificate from kokowin.ad.fau.edu
- Your Cell phone or phone will receive a Duo Authentication 2Factor prompt. You must accept this prompt for the login to occur. If you do not have the Duo application on your phone you will need to configure it before logging in.
Connecting through FAU VPN:
Requires that users login with 2Factor on the VPN
Instructions:
- Open Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client from the Start Menu
- Click Show Options
- Click the General Tab
- Enter kokowin.fau.edu in the computer field
- Enter your netid@fau.edu in the User name field, optionally check Allow me to save credentials
- Click Connect to connect to the remote kokowin.fau.edu server.
- When prompted Confirm that you want to allow this connection.
- Enter your password when prompted
- Accept the Certificate from kokowin.ad.fau.edu
